I was trying to install Photoshop and half way through installation I got this error; “SSS.DLL“.

More Info: SSS.DLL – (Mozilla FireFox 2.0.0.10), in Windows 7

Any kind of guidance with this would definitely be wonderful, it is a Dell Gx270

Hi Mary, welcome to the forum.

Just before we get started with this fix, kindly check out this post entirely.

It’s Very important that you do not dismiss any one of these stages and follow all the steps in the sequence presented further down.

Please make sure you complete every stage unless given an ok by me, even if your problems seem to have stopped. Having no signs or symptoms doesn’t guarantee your error has gone away.

Please adhere to these instructions exactly and do not try to resolve anything without my instruction, nor should you run any similar scanning software unless requested by me personally or another administrator from this specific site.

1. Download Reimage from the link beneath:

-> Reimage Download Link

(Click the hyperlink just above and you will then see a screen appear like the image directly below. Next choose whether to click ‘Run’ or you can save it and double-click it from your pc.)

2. As soon as Reimage has launched it will start a diagnostic scan . (You will observe something similar to the screen shot directly below )

3. Once the scan is finished, just click Repair (The restoration can take a while, simply just allow it to do it’s thing.)

4. When the fix is finished, reboot your PC etc. (Look below.)

thanks, ran Reimage and restarted the machine. Most of the issues are gone but I still have an random problem with Windows 7?

No problem. We must use one more application prior to the restoration is done.

Warning – only use this software after having performed a complete scan and fix with Reimage just above.

1. Please download Driver Detective from the link below and save it to your Desktop.

Download Driver Detective Link

2. Install and run Driver Detective. It should ask if you want to scan your machine, click on the ‘Scan’ button in the software. As soon as it is finished, it should display the findings of the diagnostic scan; click ‘Next’ and keep to the instructions to complete the restoration. More in depth guidelines are found here.

3. Once the program has concluded, make sure you restart your computer.

Remember to report back in this thread with the end results!

Since your computer is nice and clean, to help protect your system in the future I suggest that you look into the following programs:

Microsoft Windows Update
This is going to make certain your machine always has the most up to date security updates. If there are any new updates to install, install them straight away, reboot your machine, and revisit here until there aren’t any more important updates.

Spyware Doctor – to help prevent viruses, spyware and adware from installing. Install & update Spyware Doctor.
