I have been trying to install Excel and half way during installation it gave me an error code; “REHANSPLIT.EXE“.

Details: REHANSPLIT.EXE – (Mozilla FireFox 2.0.0.18), in Windows ME

Whatever advice with this is going to be greatly appreciated, it’s a CyberpowerPC

Hi Mary, welcome to the forum.

Before we start with this repair, kindly check out this post entirely.

It is Important you don’t dismiss any one of these stages and follow every step in the order suggested down below.

Please make sure you perform each part until given the all clear by myself, even if your symptoms appear to have ceased. The lack of any warning signs does not mean your current issue has gone.

Please comply with these guidelines exactly and you should not attempt to repair anything without my instruction, nor should you install any similar error repair software programs unless instructed by myself or an alternative admin from this site.

1. Please download Reimage from the link beneath:

-> Reimage Download

(Click the weblink just above and you will notice a box display like the one beneath. Then you can click on ‘Run’ or you can save it and double click it from your personal computer.)

2. Once Reimage has launched it will begin a scan . (You’ll see a window very similar to the screen shot directly below )

3. Once the scan is finished, simply click Repair/Fix (The repair can take a while, just allow it to do it’s job.)

4. As soon as the fix is finished, restart your computer etc. (See beneath.)

thanks, ran Reimage and rebooted the Pc. The leading problems are gone but I still get an occasional issue with Windows ME?

That’s ok. We need to use a second tool before the repair is finished.

Word of caution – only use this software after having carried out a complete diagnostic scan and repair with Reimage above.

1. Please download Driver Detective from below and save it to your Desktop.

Download Driver Detective Link

2. Install and load Driver Detective. It will ask if you’d like to scan your machine, click the ‘Scan’ button in the software. Once it is finished, it should display the findings of the diagnostic scan; click ‘Next’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair. More detailed instructions are on hand here.

3. Once the application has concluded, you need to restart your machine.

Remember to post in this thread telling me the findings!

Since your computer is nice and clean, to help defend your laptop or computer from now on I would suggest you research the following programs:

Microsoft Windows Update
This will ensure your computer always has the most up-to-date Windows up-dates. If there are any new upgrades to install, install them immediately, reboot your pc, and revisit the site until there are no other essential updates.

Spyware Doctor – to help stop viruses, spyware and adware from appearing. Install & update Spyware Doctor.
